Why have ethics? (B)

 
    Like I said in part (A) we have ethics to show respect toward others. On this article I would talk about it Pacific issue. And that is the freedom of speech and expression. Although without a doubt we had the freedom to express ourselves and what we think, that sometime we forget that Ethics goes hand in hand.

   Let me go quickly and show you an example. Here it is a small scenario. There is a man that sees a very beautiful woman. He feels very attractive to her. If he would follow his animal instinct and his sexual urge he will go up to the woman and will begin to grab her a kiss and so on. Obviously a great deal of you would know that this is unacceptable and disrespectful. But for this particular man he has no ethics and no moral principle rules. So he will follow his animal instant instead of his ethical understanding. He is not concerned in any way how she my feel,but he would just react on instant only.

   So you probably wondering what does this has to do with freedom of speech or expression. It is basically the same principle that we react by instant and not but understanding. It will be immoral and on ethical to go around and saying whatever comes to your mind. Because they could be a possibility that you may be insulting or showing disrespect to others.
   But starting from the 60s we have been declining of moral principle. This does not have to do nothing with being old-fashioned. Showing respect to others it is not a fashionable issue but a moral value. I believe you can express yourself without necessarily being insulted or destructive. Like in the example above you can see an situation that you may have a point of view and can express yourself without being abusive. And remember this is not happening only in the US but I am seeing this all over the world and in different society.

   Balance is the secret to everything that you do in your life. Once we lose the balance we will become toward one side of expression and that would be considered as a destructive radical person. But basically I have been seeing our Constitution being raped in a destructive way. I know is a strong statement but if you look around you understand what I'm saying.

   I hope I was able to show the importance of freedom of speech and expression without offending anyone.
