What is new age? (A)

 

   As I know so far when the first mention of "New Age" came out about 1924 in a book in title "life and teaching of the master of the far east" by Baird T. Spalding. It is so far the oldest as I have been able to trace this phrase that came out in any publication. If anyone else can tell me of a much older publication in which they mention this phrase, please do let me know in what book and if is possible and in which page. I do not consider myself an expert on the phrase or the concept of "New Age". The reason for that it is open for many interpretation and expression of the meaning of this phrase.
   People have asked me many time what is New Age. A good friend of mine sent me this one page giving some idea of what is New Age. On the bottom it show the author to be Jack Clarke published in 1988. But when I tried to make a research on the author it keep coming out as a racecar driver. If anyone can find out who he is please do let me know.

   In title "What is New Age, anyway?"

It is people taking conscious responsibility for the own lives, not blaming others for their problems.
It is people who deliberately decide to learn and grow.
It is people that do not have to be right, except for themselves.
It is people seeing problem as lessons, perhaps in a long series of lives lessons.
It is people who believe we are what we think we are, and can change I was so by changing our thinking.
It is people that feel they can change the world by changing themselves, not by trying to change others.
It is people who search for strength from the universe by going inside themselves.
It is people that recognize love doesn't have to have conditions attached.
It is people loving in knowing themselves in order to better know and love others.
It is people who see others as a not better than nor less than, but rather different than themselves, yet part of the same whole.
It is people that can change the own path rather than follow dogma.
It is people honoring your right to your own path, not theirs.
It is people who realize that now is all we have, since yesterday is just a thought and so is tomorrow.
It is people interested in owning themselves rather than things.
It is people who see joy in life rather than pain, having experienced enough pain already.
It is people in all walks of life, from business person to flower essence healers,psychologists to unknown mystery investigators.
New Age is not a new religion with a hierarchy of priests and rituals, seeking converts,though some new agers choose some ritual.
New Age is not often gloom an doomers,though many are concerned about ecology, the economy and other forces that affect our world.
New Age is not a movement based on guilt, anger, fear or hurt; it is a journey toward the love that is G-d.
New Age is not allegiance to one master; it is learning from many masters in the quest for the oneness of G-d.
New Age could not become a cult because of what is said above.
New Age is not just humans doing, it is humans being.

   Like I said before I am not an expert in New Age philosophy, but this statement made by Jack Clarke putting much sum it up. Although there are lot of misconception of what is New Age, I decided to make this article in order to lay out some of it miss understanding views. They are other organization and Institute that has interpret New Age of some sort of evil or negative cult. But of course they are people out there who have always taken some of the New Age philosophy believe and turn it into a cult. But also it has happen in every religion or philosophy based. This always been a human condition to get something good and turn it into something evil. And also like every good invention someone would take it and turn it into something negative. I know a lot of you can associate to what I'm trying to say.

   But before you jump to any conclusion about any issue you should always make some sort of research before making any judgment. Of course I made just a small superficial analysis of what is New Age. But in reality New Age is really not that complicated, because like it said on the letter above that New Age is not a religion of any form, shape or size. It is just a philosophical view as how you should see life no matter what religion you belong to.
